Mojo 171, There She Goes Recycle, SOG Bling

I just got this Cattitude stamp set from There She Goes and have been looking forward to using it and thought that this weeks Mojo sketch was just perfect.  There She Goes has a challenge to use an item from Christmas which is recycled which is the ribbon that I threaded through the button I cut from the gift bag that we received from my sister-in-law.
Patterned paper: DCWV
Cardstock: Core-dinations, Paper studio, Bazzil
Button: from my stash, unknown
Markers: Copic
Ink: Memento, Black Tuxedo

The other card that I did was for Some Odd Girl which the challenge is to have two or more bling items.   I put a pink pearl bead bling in the bow, a gold bling in the purse,  I used a jelly roller glitter pen for the neckline of the dress, and I added the brown glitter Pebbles brand chipboard. I used Mercy's Sketch 105 for the layout, and just turned it.

Stamping Bazaar #9 & Beautiful flowers

I haven't had a chance to work on cards since I have been busy trying to send them out this week.  It has been a challenge with my husband being in the hospital and having follow-up appointments this past week to get everything done for the holidays. Jeff received a beautiful bouquet of flowers from my Aunt Esther, Uncle Joe, Faith, and Lauren.  It is so lovely that I included some pictures.

So after a long week, I stayed up and worked on this one card for the Stamping Bazaar Challenge #9 which is All That Glitters.  This is using the Marvin with candy cane digital image.

Stamping Bazaar #8, Kraftin' Kimmie C58 , CPS 94

I was lucky enough to win this wonderful image from the Stamping Bazaar of Marvin with candy cane.  He is the only bat that I think is cute.  I just love the new Christmas images that are available.  I changed my placement around on the text and flowers since the candy cane is on the left and I didn't have enough room for the flowers.

Patterned Paper: K & Company
Cardstock: Bazzil & Core-dinatiions
Nestibilities: Large & Small Ovals
Punch: Fiskar
Flowers: Prima
Rhinestones: Me & My Big Ideas
Markers: Copics

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge 58 is to have a card with manly colors.  They just had a new release with some wonderful images.  I used Chester and had his vest be festive for the holidays.  For the layout I used this week's Mercy's sketch.

Patterned Paper: K & Company
Cardstock: Bazzil & Core-dinations
Markers: Copic
Ink: Memento, Black Tuxedo (how appropriate)
Sentiment: Verve
Border punch: Martha Stewart
Buttons & Baker's twine

For my last card for the CPS 94 I used a Susan Louise Clear.  This is from the Christmas set that has this Ragedy Ann doll.  I have taken classes from Penny the artist who designs these and she is incredible with her artwork.

Patterned Paper: K & Company
Cardstock: Bazzil & Core-dinations
Ribbon: Offray
Buttons: unknown
Baker's twine

This is how they come in a package of 9. Go to susanlouisearts.com for more details and to order.  They are easy to work with.  I use Zip Dry Glue which holds the best, is clear, and fast drying.  It is what Penny recommends.

It's getting better

Thanks to all who have sent positive thoughts and prayers. My husband had surgery on Wednesday and they removed tumor, soft tissue and muscle and placed a rod and did a fusion of L2 - L4. He was in a lot of pain yesterday, but he is such a trooper. Today he has been up walking and doing stairs, eating better than before surgery, and he has had the catheter and drain removed. He is taking oral pain pills. The only concern is that his blood pressure has been a little low and trying to get him to drink more oral fluids. My hope is that he can go home tomorrow or Sunday.
Thanks again!

Winter Fun - LPSC 95

I know I should be getting some sleep since I will need to spend another day at the hospital with my husband who just had back surgery, but I needed to relax....so I made this card.  I had to shovel a couple of inches of snow when I got home too which I didn't enjoy tonight.  This card is for the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge with a snow theme and Little Paper Shop since it follows the sketch challenge for this week.

Mojo 168

Challenge: Mojo 168

While my husband had surgery today, I did some coloring with my Copics.  I had to make a card for my Secret Santa gift yet and they requested a 6-pack of beer.  I thought this digital stamp which was a freebie was adorable.  Unfortunately the surgery took longer than expected so I had quite a long time to sit.  I have some wonderful nursing friends who kept me company so I didn't get a chance to color too many images.

BAD NEWS!!!

I have mentioned before that my wonderful husband who has been so supportive of my card making and has been the biggest help to me in my blog has metastatic renal cancer.  He has been having more back pain so he had some scans which has shown that the tumor in his spine has progressed that he actually doesn't have much room left in the spinal cord or around the nerve of his L3 area.  He has had previous radiation and surgery to the area; however, they are now going to take him to surgery before he compresses the nerve and becomes paralyzed from the waist down.  This will require a fusion of his L1-L5.  The nurse kept repeating to him this is major surgery which we realize, and we are not looking forward to.  I am just hoping this will help alleviate some of his pain.  Being a nurse, it is difficult to watch your loved one go through medical procedures since you feel so helpless.
I won't be able to post like I have been which I would rather be doing than sitting in a hospital.
Thanks to all of our family and friends for their love and support which we couldn't go through all this without.  It will be my step-daughter's 28th birthday tomorrow when my husband has his surgery.  So Happy Early Birthday Danielle!
